Life can place us in many obscurities. At some point in our lives, we will be faced with trials and tribulations. We will be drenched with thoughts of being alone and the hope of living all seems far from us.
But cheer up! Because it is at our lowest times that God wants us to draw closer to Him. He is never far away from us and wants us to realize that he is all we have and also the ultimate solution to all our troubles.
It might seem initially hard to get into a deep relationship with God because the devil wants to continue tormenting us and take us farther from God. It is important to know if we draw nearer to God, he will draw near to us and exalt us as he has promised in James 4:8. Therefore, there can be nothing more profitable other than living your life towards becoming closer to God. Surrender yourself to be saved and protected under the shadow of his mighty wings.
Let’s begin to apply the Bible and pray the following prayers to get closer to God and dine with him in his divine communion.
Prayer points for close relationship with God
The Lord is Great in Compassion:
“The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.” (Psalm 145:8-9).
Dear God,
I glorify your divine name for you are the king of kings and God of all gods. I am glad that you are always near me even when I am far away from you. I appreciate that you are gracious unto me and have not chastised me in your anger. Lord, I pray today that you draw me closer in your mercy in the mighty name of Jesus. I want to be in deep communion with you and abide under your presence. God, I seek your compassion and grace to live my life to glorify your name. Bless me in abundance and take away every trouble that makes me drift away from you in the name of Jesus. Amen.
The Great Deliverer:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Matthew 11:27-28).
Heavenly God,
I thank you that I have a glorious inheritance as your child and you will not forsake me. I am glad that my troubles shall be solved and you will cause my heavy burden to become light. I humbly seek today that you heal my weary heart and deliver my soul from destruction. I pray that you provide the peace that surpasses human understanding for me and give me the grace to serve you all through my lifetime. I declare that any circumstance that will hinder me from staying next to your side be averted today in the mighty name of Jesus. Grant me the power and strength to stay close to you more than I did before from now on. Amen.
Confession Of Sins:
“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” (Isiah 1:18).
Dear Lord,
I praise your name because you are always there to settle my trials and attend to my tribulations. I am glad that despite my unfaithfulness, you are forever ready to forgive my sins and hold my hands again so that I shall not stumble unto destruction. I pray today that you forgive me of all my sins in the mighty name of Jesus. Be merciful unto me and wash me clean with the divine blood of Jesus. I proclaim that your eye shines on me and removes every iniquity that has pushed me far away from you in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Intentional Surrender:
“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” (Revelation 3:20)
Dear God,
You said to me in your words that you are ready to come in if I open the door of my heart to you. I confess that you are my Lord and personal savior today. I declare my intentional surrender to your mighty hands of care and humbly seek that you come into my life in the mighty name of Jesus. I do away with everything that is closing the door of my heart against you from now on in the name of Jesus. I receive salvation which your mighty presence brings today and pray that you continually uphold me and abide with me. Amen.
The Greatest Assurance:
“Seek the LORD while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the LORD, And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.” (Isiah 55:6-7).
Heavenly Father,
I thank you for always being there to hear me. I am glad that you are near and you’re perfect even in my imperfections. I confess today that I have forsaken all the unclean ways that formed a barricade between you and me. I am ready to live my life to the glory of your holy name. I have returned to your throne of grace and humbly seek that you uphold me with mercy in the mighty name of Jesus. I pray that you pardon me and cast me not away from your presence in the name of Jesus. Thank you Lord, because you have answered my prayers. Continue to reign forever and ever. Amen.

It is delightful to the heart of God when we do his will and stay close to him.
