When a family member or friend is missing, just getting to know or hearing this alone disrupts the body systems and causes heartache especially when it begins to enter days that the person is missing. Several negative thoughts would be running through the minds of family members and loved ones.
Apart from reporting this to the security agencies and media, it is also wise to tap into the spiritual strength via prayer. Family members can pray together and individuals can also stand in the gap for the missing fellow to be found. Not just to be found but to be found alive in good shape. Here are prayer points for the missing person;
- Lord, we commit him into your hands wherever he may be right now, let your safety be sure over him in the name of Jesus. Father, please protect him against all sorts of evil in the name of Jesus. Just as your word says only those you keep that are safe, please keep this one wherever he may be in the name of Jesus. You are omnipresent Lord, we may not know where he is but you do, please let him be safe at all cost in the name of Jesus.
- Lord, we are in trying times as we seek to find our missing family member, please help us to stay put in the name of Jesus. Lord, guide our thoughts and actions in these trying times in the name of Jesus. Please help us that we may not speak wrong or act against our faith in you because of the pain we are going through in the name of Jesus. We commit our hearts to you, please help us as you helped Job in his trying times in the name of Jesus.
- Father, we pray that this experience will end in testimony in the name of Jesus. Lord, let us not have the cause to cry over him in the name of Jesus. By the end of this whole thing Lord, let our mouth be full of praises unto your holy name in the name of Jesus. That this will be a memorial of praise unto your holy name even in the future in the name of Jesus. Let us find him in peace and not in pieces that our joy may be full in the name of Jesus.
- If he is held captive by dangerous people, Lord please give him an escape route in the name of Jesus. Help him to find an escape route in the name of Jesus so that he may return home alive in the name of Jesus. Father, let his captivity be over in the name of Jesus. Just set him free for us in Jesus’ name. The church prayed for Peter and he was released. Therefore we pray for our son that he would be released from captivity in the name of Jesus.
- Father, we pray and ask for your help to find him in the name of Jesus. Lord, grant us divine insight to finding him in the name of Jesus. Lead our paths to find him, grant us revelation, and lead us through it till we find our missing brother in the name of Jesus. Connect us to people that can help us just as you did for David when the Amalekites invaded his home in the name of Jesus.
- Psalm 34:18 says you are near the discouraged and that you save those without hope Lord, please reach out to him wherever he may be and confirm your word upon his life in the name of Jesus. Please reassure him that you are with him wherever he may be in the name of Jesus. And as you reassure him, please speak to us in a clear still voice and give us the assurance of him being alive in the name of Jesus.
- Father, we come against every satanic plot on his life in the name of Jesus. All evil plans to kidnap, torture, and waste his life is hereby aborted in the name of Jesus. The evil plans and people that may be holding him hostage will not succeed in the name of Jesus. We hereby declare his release by the power of might in the name of Jesus.
- Lord, your word in Psalm 48:14 says you will guide us forever, please guide him back home wherever he missed his way in the name of Jesus. Father, please order his steps by your presence and power until he locates his way back home in the name of Jesus. Like a shepherd lead his lost sheep back home, please locate him irrespective of how dangerous the place he may be in the name of Jesus.
- Lord, we commit the security agencies and all of their partners that will be involved into your hand as they search and investigate to help us find brother. Lord, please grant them great insight and skill needed to unravel his whereabout in the name of Jesus. Lord, please help them beyond their intellectual and job specialty in the name of Jesus. We pray that they will not be too late to locate him in danger in the name of Jesus.
- Thank you Holy Spirit for answered prayers. Thank you Jesus because we would have no cause to weep over his life but it will be a great testimony as you bring him back home hale and healthy in the name of Jesus. Thank you Jesus because no one will be missing by the time he is back home in the name of Jesus. No death will be recorded because of this event in Jesus’ name. Thank you, Jesus!

As you continue to pray to find the missing person, please do all that is needed by informing the security operatives and providing them with all the information that they need. God answers prayer in various ways. While you are hoping to find him, don’t limit God to a particular way to get him back home. Let him decide how He wants to do that.
