Prayer of Thanksgiving

The art of thanksgiving is the art of appreciation. It means to thank God for what He has done for you. By this, you recognize that it is not by your own doing or might that you have brought those things into reality. Thanksgiving simply means you appreciate that God has crowned your effort or validated your insignificant input for His glory. This is the first level of thanksgiving.

Apart from thanking God for what He has done, there are other two levels of thanking God. The first is to thank God for who He is. Appreciating God in His majesty and supremacy is one way to get God to act. The second level of thanksgiving involves thanking God for what He is yet to do but that you have faith that it is done. This thanksgiving involves a high level of faith. It is thanking God in advance and you need this thanksgiving too.

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord. These three levels of thanksgiving should normally be in any prayer section. Because the Bible says, we enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praises. So, praying will you to start with thanksgiving and if you express your faith in God’s ability that He has answered you, you will need to end with thanksgiving too. That’s the third level of thanksgiving.
