When it comes to having joy, you may think there is no need to make this a prayer point. This is because many assume the way to get joy is when things go well. So, many would rather work on getting results on their work or projects. While this is true, it can only cater to the generally known joy that comes from things going as planned or anticipated. If this is the only type of joy you strive to have, it is most likely that you will live a miserable life.
A miserable life! Yes, I exactly what you read. This is because life itself is full of ups and downs. As a Christian, you would experience a lot of this too. This is why Jesus intimated us ahead in John 16:33. He said we would see lots of tribulations in this life. But that we should be of good cheer because He has overcome the world for us. If Jesus says we will have tribulations, then we would. It’s not a joke!
However, in the face of tribulations and trials, God expects us to be of good cheer or be joyous. Remember in the book of exodus 14 when the children of Israel had the red sea before them and the Egyptians behind them, God told them to match on. There is no option to be downcast. God expects you to move on with a joyous attitude irrespective of how difficult or bad the situation is. This is why joy is a prayer point because no man would be in trouble and still be joyous.
To this end, we shall be raising two prayer points on joy unspeakable. Notice the word “unspeakable” and this is used to indicate the type of joy we will be raising prayer points to achieve. It is not the usually known joy. It is a joy that surpasses understanding and that you can’t explain how it comes. That is what we mean by joy unspeakable. It can only come supernaturally. That is what we would be achieving with prayer.
Special Prayers on Joy Unspeakable
Our first prayer point on joy unspeakable would be derived from 1 John 1:1-4. If you take your time to read through these verses you will discover that John highlighted different levels of interaction and encounter with Jesus. These encounters and interactions with Jesus Christ are what are responsible for the joy stated in verse 4. This means there is a level of encounter that brings you supernatural joy.
So, the great Apostle is advocating for the same level of encounter and interaction. Before we state the prayer, I would like you to see that it’s not just any type of joy, it is the one that is full. Personally, I wondered how it was convenient for the Apostles to live and die for the course of the gospel without looking back. I believe this joy unspeakable derived from interacting and encountering Jesus is part of the reason.
The prayer point will be something like, “Lord, make my joy full through personal encounters with you in Jesus’ name” This type of joy makes you know that everything is settled irrespective of what is happening around you. This is the more reason you need to make this a regular prayer point. It feels good to know that everything has been taken care of irrespective of what is going on around you. That is what Joy unspeakable will do for you!
Secondly, to raise the second prayer point on joy unspeakable, there is a need to understand that joy unspeakable is always part of the package God wraps in our journey. It is rather unfortunate that few people experience this joy unspeakable. This is why you find men that are walking in God’s purpose having an unexplainable kind of joy even in difficult situations. Though there are several reasons people don’t experience this kind of joy, it can still be achieved by prayer.
To elucidate this availability of this kind of joy, let’s take a look at Hebrews 12:1-2. In these two verses, we were encouraged to look up to Jesus Christ. It also added that there are many witnesses (those that have gone before us), they are standing in the spirit realm encouraging us. It is all so that we can end well. It further gave us the true picture using Jesus as an example that He fulfilled His purpose because of the joy that was set before Him.
If Jesus being the pattern son had a joy that was set before Him. Then, it means we will have ours since we are following His path. While we are trying to be like Him, we also have joy set before us. Many people are not fulfilling God’s purpose that is why this joy is missing in their life. So, if you walk in God’s purpose for your life, you are supposed to be walking in joy unspeakable. Now is time to pray! Your prayer point would be something like this, “Lord, help me to walk in joy unspeakable” It is that simple but very powerful.
Apart from the fact that God requires you to live in joy, there are other reasons you need to glow in the joy of the Lord. One exceptional reason is that the scriptures say that with joy shall you draw from the wells of salvation (Isaiah 12:3). This may explain why you are not making anything good with your life even though you are born again. Joy is a tool, and if you don’t have it, you can’t draw from the wells of salvation.

It, therefore, means that as Christians, we must endeavor to stay joyous. The only way we can remain joyous is by the supernatural way. That can only come from God. Prayer is the way to secure it. Hence, the reason these prayer points are very important as long as you are part of the kingdom of God through Jesus Christ. So, take it seriously, it is your passport to drawing things out of wells of salvation.
