Contentment is a virtue that makes men to be happy and satisfied with something especially what they have or what they are given. This virtue cut across all areas of life and is visible to all especially those that are not contented with their life.
Some are not contented with their possessions and for some, it is their position. This doesn’t mean their possessions or position is a small one. They are not just happy with it. So, praying for contentment is not out of place because no matter your possession or position, some people are aspiring to get there. You may actually be part of the few having what you are not contented with. Here are some prayer points for contentment;

- Father, I want to thank you for all that you have blessed me with. Thank you for your grace over my life. Thank you Jesus for the influence and connection in the varying degree to which you have given me. Lord, I recognize that you have brought me this far not just by my own doing. Thank you Jesus for the contentment in the little advancement per time.
- Father, I ask that you give a new heart in the name of Jesus. A heart that sees what you are doing and what you have done rather than what you haven’t done in the name of Jesus. Father, please bless me with a heart that is full of thanksgiving unto you my maker and provider so that I can be contented with your goodness in my life in the name of Jesus.
- Lord, I come against every satanic thought sent from out of here to make me feel that you have not done anything worthwhile for me in the name of Jesus. I clear out all such thoughts to make me see less of what God has done for me by the fire of the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus. I affirm that the Lord is good to me and He has done lots for me!

Lord, in my career, financial status, and material possessions, help me to see fulfilment in how much I have come so that I can be contented in the name of Jesus.
- Lord, please show me all that I need to do to enter into your rest for my life in the name of Jesus. Lord, please give me rest from all my life endeavours so that I may find contentment in my life in the name of Jesus. Just as you gave David rest round about his life, please give me rest too that I may be content in my life in Jesus’ name.
- Lord, please save me from the trap of foolish and harmful desires by making me contented in the name of Jesus. This is in line with your word in 1 Timothy 6:8-9 that those who want to get rich fall into such a trap. Please help me to be contented in the name of Jesus so that I won’t fall into the trap of unending desire for things.
- Lord, I pray that you open my eyes to see the positives of every situation in the name of Jesus. Lord, help me to see the value in every situation and moment so that I can learn contentment in them in the name of Jesus. I only want to see the good side of every situation so that the bad things will not prompt me out of contentment in the name of Jesus.
- Father, help me to value every little blessing that you bring my way and the advancement per time. Lord, please teach me to be contented and happy with every little advancement milestone achievement in the name of Jesus. Help me to see beyond quantity in the little blessings but the value they bring to my life so that I may learn to rejoice in the Lord for these blessings in Jesus’ name.
- Father, your word says the love for money is the root of evil. Please save me from excessive love for money and material things in the name of Jesus. Father, help me that the excessive love for riches and materials will not blind me from the life of contentment and what God is doing in my life in the name of Jesus.
- Lord, I come against the influence of every spirit of competition in my life in the name of Jesus. Every spirit that may want to breed competition in me to blind me from seeing what God is doing in my life so that I can live without contentment is hereby cleared out by the fire of the Holy Ghost in the name of Jesus.
- Lord, by the power of the most high, I enter into unspeakable peace in the name of Jesus. The peace which passes all understanding becomes my lot in all situations in the name of Jesus. And with this peace, I enter into a life of contentment by the peace which passes all understanding in the name of Jesus.
